Fixin' up the website

When I first started blogging we didn’t have Twitter or Flickr or del.icio.us. We didn’t even have RSS. We didn’t really have blogging tools, for that matter. I rolled my own like a lot of folks, and other people did it by hand.

Man that was awesome.

Now that we’ve got Twitter and Flickr and del.icio.us it’s so easy to create these tiny pieces of content. 140 characters here, a link there, a photo over here…and it’s all scattered. There’s no single place to say “Who is Michael Ivey, and what is he up to?”

So I’ve reconstructed it. I’m still using Twitter for the short posts, del.icio.us and Google Reader for links, Flickr for photos. I’m just aggregating them here in HTML, so they feel like a single site, representing me.

(I’m not sure if I’ll keep Mephisto or switch to something that plays nicer on a shared host. The good news is, it won’t matter. Content creation can happen anywhere.)
